As one of eight children growing up in a Southern Baptist household and the granddaughter of a veteran who served in World War II, Jessica Dean grew up to become one of the most renowned mesothelioma lawyers in the country.
At 16, Dean’s first job was as an IHOP waitress. Her competitive nature and work ethic eventually landed Dean a scholarship to attend Boston University. From there she went on to The University of Texas School of Law.
Jessica Dean has been practicing law since 2003. In building her reputation, she has established memberships and affiliations with such prestigious groups including the American Board of Trial Advocates, the American Association for Justice, and the Top 40 Under 40 Lawyers in Dallas to name a few.
In 2018 Jessica Dean was one of a team of three attorneys that were added to a list of the top 10 jury verdicts. The list was compiled by TopVerdict.com. The list features the top 10 jury verdicts in which plaintiffs were awarded cash payments in personal injury or wrongful death cases.
Dean and her team were number 6 on the list having been awarded a judgment of $32,700,000.00 in damages in an asbestos exposure case.
In 2021, Jessica Dean was again named to Lawdragon’s Top 500 Leading Plaintiff Consumer Lawyers. Although this list represents lawyers who have received this honor in 2021, this is the third year in a row that Jessica Dean was named to this list.
Of this third consecutive selection, Dean said that she was proud to receive the honor and grateful for being placed on the list again.
