Successful businessman and CEO Krishen Iyer was born to Indian immigrants who moved from India’s Kerala state to the suburbs of Boston. Growing up he spent much time alone as his two elder sisters were busy with ballet classes (one of them became a professional dancer). Krishen Iyer was always interested in the work of Osho, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and Deepak Chopra. He started his career as a software engineer working with Lotus 123 at IBM after getting his Bachelor’s degree from Boston University.

It was here that he had an accident that would change his life forever. The accident left Krishen with a broken neck and crushed spine. He ended up spending 6 months in the hospital, unable to walk or even use his arms (Dailyadvent).

The doctors told him he would most likely never walk again (he can now stand for half an hour at a time). Despite all odds, Krishen walked out of the hospital on his own two feet, with a drive to help himself and others. The successful businessman then went back to work at IBM as he wanted to earn enough money to go travelling. Krishen Iyer spent 18 months there. It was then when Krishen Iyer couldn’t stand the 9-5 lifestyle, so he left for India in search of something more meaningful to do with his life.
