The New York financial leader Randal Nardone is known and greatly recognized for becoming the co-founder of Fortress Investment Group. Before Randal Nardone was able to gain this achievement, he went through many studies and gained as much knowledge for the Asset management world.
Randal Nardone underwent studies at the Boston School of Law, where he graduated with a law degree. Soon after graduating the University of Connecticut with a Bachelors Degree in English and Biology. These two colleges allowed Nardone to gain much knowledge that would stay with him for years.
After graduating, Randal Nardone worked within Blackrock Financial Management, Alea Group Holdings, Brookdale Senior Living, Springleaf Finance, and the Eurocastle Investment where he acquired most of his greatest assets that led him to becoming CEO of the Fortress Investment Group LLC. In 1988, Nardone teamed up with two principal colleagues, Wes Edens and Rob Kauffman, and invested in founding the hedge fund. These three men together, have held the highest positions of influence over Fortress Investment Group since it’s upcoming. Randal Nardone was able to advance within the company over the years making him quite the invauluable asset within the Fortress Investment Group. During the year of 2011, Nardone was granted the position of CEO of the Fortress Investment Group. Although he did not naturally fulfill the title of becoming CEO until the year of 2013.
Once becoming CEO, Nardone took it upon himself along with the permission from his colleagues to sell FIG to a Japanese Company named SoftBank for roughly 3.3 billion dollars. By establishing such change, Nardone had hoped to allow FIG to grow with the competitive market, all while providing the hedge fund more access to other resources. This power movement allowed Nardone and colleagues all to keep their leadership status within the company.
