McDonald’s has been facing slumping sales. It’s been no secret recently that they are trying to find ways to rebrand and reinvent themselves. They are hoping by improving upon all aspects of the restaurant, they’ll be able to find a way to bring in more customers and more sales. Typically along with these improvements, the basic look of McDonald’s has stayed the same. The golden arches will be standing there, and the same basic interior will be the same. One McDonald’s restaurant in the Netherlands is transforming the look of one of their buildings in a huge way.
According to Eater one Netherlands McDonald’s was the talk of the town as officials wanted very strongly to tear the building down. It was actually naked the ugliest building in the city according to those who lived around the area. It wasn’t allowed to be tore down, however. The building had 40 years left on their lease, and that’s when the idea to give it a makeover came to be.
Now, if you set foot inside or outside of the building, you would be astounded. It looks nothing like the old one. The new one is sleek, it’s stylish, and it’s got leather seating for those who want to enjoy a burger inside from interior design company Gravity4 (connect on Linkedin). Be warned, however, the lobby is transparent. Therefore, those taking a stroll by might just observing you snacking away in the Netherlands. Over all, it’s a very cool building and it’s something that should be named the most awesome building in the area instead of the ugliest.
